Amballa Madhavi is an experienced and accomplished employment litigator, counsellor and labour relations advocate. She has represented management in all aspects of labour and employment law for more than seven years. Amballa Madhavi has extensive employment litigation experience, defending employers across the state of Andhra Pradesh, state courts and before governmental agencies. She has litigated hundreds of cases in Karimnagar and Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh. She has specialized experience defending race, sex, pregnancy, and age discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, retaliation and whistleblower cases, and workplace tort claims such as defamation, assault/battery, negligent hiring/retention, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She obtained numerous dismissals and summary judgment victories for her clients and successfully tried jury trials and arbitrations.
Aside from litigating, a key and rewarding part of her practice has been helping her clients avoid lawsuits and minimize litigation risks. Amballa Madhavi proactively counsels and trains employers on the best practices in day-to-day employee relations issues, wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, proper classification of workers, and compliance with the numerous federal employment laws such as the Fair Labour Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act. Over the years, Amballa Madhavi has guided numerous companies through restructurings, reductions in force, and mergers/acquisitions. She has conducted dozens of workplace investigations and has favourably resolved scores of disputes with employees before lawsuits were filed. She has also drafted employment agreements, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, and retirement and severance agreements.

Amballa Madhavi has strategically advised companies on the collective bargaining process, including the strategies and legalities of negotiating declaring impasse, unilaterally implementing the "last, best offer," and strikes/lockouts. She has guided employers through accretion issues, successor ship, contract interpretation, union avoidance, and managing day-to-day labour issues. She has successfully defended her clients in hundreds of unfair labour practice charges before the Labour Relations Board. In the labour arbitration arena, Amballa Madhavi has tried dozens of discipline/discharge and contract interpretation cases, and assisted her clients in all other phases of the arbitration process by selecting favourable arbitrator.
Amballa Madhavi has represented employers of all sizes, geographic scope, and levels of sophistication in employment and labour law issues. Her clients have ranged from small businesses and non-profits with less than 50 employees. She has helped clients with extensive in-house legal departments, as well as those without any human resources professionals. She is accustomed to working with her clients' General Counsel, in-house lawyers, human resources/labour relations professionals, and line management. She has represented employers in the energy, telecommunications, health care, hospitality, transportation, food services, manufacturing, financial services, security, and package delivery industries.
Amballa Madhavi is a University of Osmania graduate. She obtained both her B.Sc., with distinction, in the year 1987. She is admitted to the AP State Bar Association. Amballa Madhavi is a member of YWCA Karimnagar, which supports and promotes stability for victims of domestic violence and their children. She resides in Karimnagar with her husband, Amballa Kanthaiah, and their two children.
